Finding Voice, Building Belonging: ESOL Classes at Caring and Sharing

Learning English isn’t just about speaking a new language—it’s about finding your voice in a world that once made you feel invisible.

Every Thursday at the Caring and Sharing Hub, we open our doors, and our hearts to learners taking their first steps in the English language through our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes.

These sessions are more than just lessons in grammar or vocabulary. They are lifelines of connection, confidence, and community. We serve individuals navigating immigration journeys, seeking asylum, or settling into life in a new country—people who often find themselves silenced not by choice, but by circumstance.

At Caring and Sharing, we recognised a gap, a communication barrier that can leave people feeling isolated or invisible. Our ESOL classes exist to bridge that gap.

With patience, compassion, and practical teaching, we guide learners through the basics of English: how to introduce themselves, read important signs, fill out forms, hold a conversation, apply for a job, and express themselves with dignity.

It’s not just about language, it’s about helping people find their voice, reclaim their agency, and become active participants in the community. Because everyone deserves the opportunity to not just survive, but to thrive.

Join us every Thursday, where learning English means building a life.
