At Caring and Sharing Rochdale, we believe that no one should feel alone or unsupported, especially in their later years. Our Community Care for Seniors & Carers project is designed to create a warm, inclusive space where older adults and their carers can connect, access practical support, and improve their overall well-being.
Many of those we support—particularly from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds—face barriers when trying to access mainstream services. Through this initiative, we aim to bridge that gap, offering culturally sensitive support that meets their unique needs.
How We Make a Difference
Group Sessions for Older Adults (VIPs Over 60)
We’ve brought back our much-loved social sessions for seniors, now with even more opportunities for engagement. These sessions focus on:
- Gentle exercises and activities to promote mobility and prevent falls
- Meaningful social interactions to combat loneliness and foster friendships
- Well-being discussions to encourage healthy, active lifestyles
These sessions take place twice a month at the CAS Hub.
Support for Carers
Caring for a loved one can be incredibly rewarding but also overwhelming. Our peer support groups provide a safe space where carers can:
- Share experiences and access practical advice
- Connect with others who understand their challenges
- Receive emotional support and well-being resources
Monthly meetups are held at the CAS Hub.
Weekly Befriending Check-Ins
To ensure ongoing connection and support, we introduced weekly check-ins, both in-person and over the phone for elderly individuals who may be housebound or facing mobility challenges.
Practical Support for Seniors
Recovering from a hospital stay or struggling with daily essentials? We offer:
- Prescription deliveries and food parcels
- Transport assistance for medical appointments
- Guidance to help seniors stay independent for longer
Our aim is to ensure a smoother transition back home after hospital discharge, reducing the risk of readmission and promoting a healthier, stress-free recovery.
Who Can Join?
- Older adults aged 60 and above looking for connection and support
- Carers of older adults who need guidance and encouragement

Let’s create a community where seniors and carers feel valued, empowered, and supported—because everyone deserves to age with dignity, connection, and care.
