Empowering Digital Confidence: Our Weekly ICT Workshop at CAS

Every Monday, our Hub comes alive with curiosity, learning, and the click of keyboards during our ICT Workshop, a cornerstone of our digital empowerment efforts at Caring and Sharing Rochdale.

Designed to build foundational computer literacy, this weekly session is a safe, inclusive space where participants from our community, many of whom are asylum seekers, refugees, and members of the BAME community come together to develop practical digital skills for everyday life.

From the basics of navigating a computer to the more nuanced essentials like sending emails, browsing safely online, and understanding online privacy and cybersecurity, we guide attendees step by step. The focus isn’t just on technical know-how; it’s about confidence, independence, and digital inclusion in a world that’s increasingly online.

Whether it’s learning how to type a letter, search for a job, or access services securely, our ICT Workshop is all about equipping people with the tools they need to thrive in a digital age, no prior experience required.

The workshop is part of our wider mission to reduce digital exclusion and create opportunities for connection, learning, and empowerment. We’re proud to see how far our participants have come, and we’re even more excited for what’s next.

We must ensure that no one is left offline in a world that is increasingly online.
