Our Work in Action

CAS Community Care for Seniors & Carers
At Caring and Sharing Rochdale, we believe that no one should feel alone or unsupported, especially in their later years. Our Community Care for Seniors & Carers project is designed to create a warm, inclusive space where older adults and their carers can connect, access practical support, and improve their overall well-being.
Many of those we support—particularly from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds—face barriers when trying to access mainstream services. Through this initiative, we aim to bridge that gap, offering culturally sensitive support that meets their unique needs.

Friends of Shamwari
Caring and Sharing Rochdale (CAS) hosts Friends of Shamwari, a monthly social event uniting asylum seekers, refugees, and the wider community in a welcoming space. “Shamwari,” meaning “friend” in Shona, reflects the initiative’s goal of fostering connection and support. Held every first Saturday of the month, the gathering offers a free, friendly environment where individuals and families can share experiences and build relationships.

Creative connection
Creative Connections is a community-based arts project by Caring and Sharing Rochdale designed to foster belonging, connection, and personal growth through creativity. The project creates a safe and welcoming space where art becomes a tool for building community, confidence, and shared identity..

ESOL Classes
Our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes are designed to support adults in building confidence and fluency in English. The classes provide a friendly, inclusive learning environment where participants can develop practical language skills for everyday life and work.
