At CAS, our Creative Connection CAS holiday session continues to evolve into a vibrant hub of support, reflection, and artistic expression for women in our community. This week’s gathering delivered exactly that—an environment that felt both soothing and energising, where honest conversations were welcomed and every voice mattered.

Creating Space for Real Conversations
We opened the session with gentle affirmations, setting a calm tone before diving into heartfelt conversations about the pressures women often carry during the holiday season. From the expectation to “make everything perfect” to the emotional load of managing homes, families, and personal wellbeing, the dialogue was refreshingly open.
As a group, we explored how to spot stress triggers early and how to respond with intentional calm—pausing, breathing, and letting go when necessary. The atmosphere felt like one big exhale.

Coping Strategies That Truly Ground Us
In true Creative Connection spirit, the women shared their personal grounding practices. From cleaning, singing, dancing, and crocheting to praying and journalling, the conversation highlighted the small, meaningful habits that sustain us during busy seasons.
We also discussed simple, low-cost activities for children—drawing, painting, games, and hands-on crafts—ensuring families can stay connected without added pressure.
A Burst of Colour and Community Spirit
The room lit up during our painting session. Laughter and creativity filled the space, culminating in a warm photo moment with our CEO, Nicky Iginla, proudly showcasing the artwork created. It was a powerful visual reminder of community in action.
Looking Ahead: Dance, Celebrate, Reflect
Next week marks the final Creative Connection session of the year, and we’re closing with celebration. We’re inviting every woman to come ready to dance, celebrate, and reflect on the community we’ve built together.
Supported by the Best
This Creative Connection CAS holiday session—along with our broader programme—is proudly sponsored by Creative Connection, Arts Council England, and the UK Government. Their support enables us to continue providing inclusive and meaningful experiences for women and families.
