Holiday and Fun Activities
As HAF 2026 comes to a close, we’re looking back on another brilliant few weeks filled with exploration, creativity, games, learning and, most importantly, plenty of fun.
Throughout the summer, our Explorers, Adventurers and Leaders have made memories, tried new activities and connected with their community. In these final weeks, they continued to Learn, Create and Play while discovering more of what Rochdale has to offer.
Exploring Rochdale
Our young people continued to explore their local community, including a visit to Flip Out Rochdale, where they had the opportunity to get active, have fun and enjoy time together.
They also enjoyed a day out at Rochdale Town Hall, exploring one of the town’s much-loved landmarks. It was a chance to step outside the usual HAF setting, discover something new and see their local area from a different perspective.
These experiences helped make our HAF programme in Rochdale more than just a summer of activities. They gave young people opportunities to explore, learn and connect with the community around them.
Creating Something of Their Own
There was plenty of creativity too!
Our Explorers, Adventurers and Leaders took part in a hands-on crafting session, where they designed and made their own key holders.
From choosing their designs to putting everything together, the children enjoyed creating something they could proudly take home. It was wonderful to see their ideas come to life and their personalities shine through their creations.
Games, Challenges and Teamwork
Of course, no HAF programme would be complete without some friendly competition!
The children took part in a variety of games, from exciting Minute-to-Win-It challenges to brick-building fun. Along the way, there was plenty of laughter, teamwork and a few competitive moments.
The brick-building activities brought another opportunity for the children to work together and think creatively. More importantly, the games gave everyone a chance to join in, have fun and enjoy time with friends.
Sometimes, the simplest games create the biggest smiles!
Celebrating Our Cultures
One of the highlights of the final weeks was our Cultural Day; a celebration of the wonderful diversity within our community.
The day brought together different cultures, traditions, colours and food. Our young people had the opportunity to share, learn from one another and celebrate the things that make each of us unique.
From colourful displays to delicious food and shared traditions, the day was full of opportunities to connect and celebrate.
Above all, it was a joyful reminder that our community is stronger when we make space for everyone.
And That’s a Wrap on HAF 2026!
From exploring Rochdale and discovering new places to crafting, playing games and celebrating our diverse backgrounds, the final weeks of HAF 2026 gave our young people even more opportunities to Learn, Create and Play.
While the programme has now come to an end, the memories, friendships and experiences created throughout the summer will stay with us.
We’re incredibly grateful to our team, volunteers, partners and families for helping make the programme possible. Most of all, we want to thank all the wonderful young people who joined us and made HAF 2026 what it was.
